Portfolio Forty-Three, American Landscapes of Peter Myma. The voice of change is discrete and inexorable, a poetry of order and entropy, whose rhythm is the subject of my work. My photographs are biographies of natural and man-made forces waxing and waning, written in the light and shade of the world around us. Prosaic subjects serve as a stage upon which decay, gravity and growth can more clearly be seen. I seek to immerse the viewer in a visual drama which is immediate, accessible and intuitive. Each image is a spatial narrative with an origin and outcome, portraying the world in terms of the energy of transformation. My travels reflect the journey that objects take as they briefly rise above the chaos. To be clearly seen is to be felt, bypassing the numbing affectations of superficial discourse. My pictures connect the spiritual with the palpable, where empathy and visual acuity converge.
